We are hiring an expert engineer/technician who can help operate a 5TPH Gold Processing Plant with gravity methods in remote areas of Somaliland. The plant contains Jaw Crushers, Wet Pan Mills & Gravitational Recovery Equipment.

Below are the details of the position:

Job Title: Gold Plant Technician / Processing Operator
Location: Remote site (mountainous terrain), Somaliland
Employment Type: Full Time Contract with Rotation

Role Summary:

The Gold Plant Technician is responsible for the daily operation and basic maintenance of a small-scale gold processing plant. This includes running the crusher, wet pan mill, and gravity recovery system to ensure consistent ore throughput and maximum gold recovery.

The technician works hands-on with equipment and materials, managing feed rate, water flow, and grinding time based on site instructions. They are also responsible for collecting gold concentrate, assisting with safe handling of mercury (if used), and maintaining a clean and functional work area.

This role requires a practical, reliable worker who can operate machinery, identify basic problems, and follow established procedures. The technician plays a key role in maintaining plant efficiency and minimizing gold losses during daily operations.

The position is based at a remote mining site, and the technician must be able to work long hours in challenging conditions while cooperating closely with the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor:
  • Crusher
  • Wet pan mill
  • Gold recovery system
• Feed ore into the plant and maintain steady throughput
• Develop and manage efficient gold recovery processes
• Adjust plant settings based on ore type and grade variability
• Check and adjust water flow, feed rate, and grinding time
• Collect and process gold concentrate
• Assist in safe handling of mercury (if used)
• Clean and maintain equipment daily
• Identify problems (blockages, low recovery, equipment faults) and report them
• Assist in basic repairs and maintenance
• Implement basic process monitoring and reporting system (recovery %, feed grade, tailings losses)

Required Qualifications

·       Basic technical training OR proven On-the-job mining experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of Proven experience with:
  • Gravity concentration methods
  • Small-scale or modular plants
  • Wet pan mills or similar grinding systems

·       Degree or diploma is preffered in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering with at least two years of experience.

Preferred Experience (Strong Advantage)

• Experience in Africa (Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, DRC, etc.)
• Hands-on work in remote or artisanal mining environments
• Knowledge of:
  • Cyanidation (Heap Leaching / CIL) systems
  • Use of mercury gold recovery methods
• Ability to work with limited infrastructure and adapt quickly
