The Czech Republic is home to some of the oldest universities in Europe, and widely regarded as having one of the most attractive quality/cost ratios in higher education.
Founded in 1849 VSB – The Technical University of Ostrava is one of the Czech Republic’s largest public universities, and offers programmes at the bachelor's, master's and PhD levels to over 16,000 students in engineering, technical, and business related areas.
It was promoted to university status in 1904.
Study is organised into seven faculties and three all-university study programmes.
These faculties include: economics, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mining and geology, metallurgy, material engineering and safety engineering.
The university has close ties with other universities across many countries over six continents.
