The Role Our client is looking for a senior Shopify developer with additional Laravel experience to join a small, highly experienced remote engineering team. The role focuses on the continued development and architecture of their core A/B testing platform. They are looking for someone who can work independently, make strong technical decisions, contribute to architectural discussions, and take ownership of complex backend challenges in a modern API-driven environment.
Main responsibilities
Develop and maintain the core Laravel application Design and implement scalable backend solutions and architecture decisions Support them directly with Shopify work Build and improve API driven functionality and integrations Work on platform features related to experimentation, reporting, payments, and infrastructure
✅ Requirements
Strong commercial experience with Laravel and PHPStrong Shopify experience (esp. Shopify Functions, Admin UI Extensions, Checkout UI Extensions/Checkout Extensibility, Embedded apps - App Bridge/Polaris) Solid understanding of software design principles and scalable backend development Experience working with APIs and modern web applications Experience with Symfony and broader PHP ecosystem frameworks Strong communication skills in a remote environment

Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-based infrastructure Experience with AWS services and SQL databases Familiarity with Cloudflare products, proxies, caching, CDN, WAF, or edge technologies Experience with Stripe integrations and payment systems Exposure to AI-driven development workflows, MCPs, or modern AI tooling
