To define and drive the Information Technology strategy of Jordan River Foundation. To lead, develop and implement the IT strategy to support organizational objectives and operations while ensuring that appropriate IT solutions and infrastructure are installed, maintained, supported and protected in an efficient and effective manner.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Management Team and other Division Heads to identify the organization IT, Telecommunications and MIS demands and priorities and create the IT strategy, in accordance with best practice for quality, project and change management to ensure all IT plans are updated and match organization new strategies.
- Develops the annual IT operational plan for Organization including resources and budget based on past trends and forecasts on anticipated projects during the year to match donor requirements and organization Annual budget.
Best Practices implementation:
- Ensures IT architecture and standards are developed and implemented in line with recognized quality standards, works on IT architecture.
- Leads the development of technological capabilities which will enable organization IT to develop state-of-art IT solutions to meet business requirements.
- Monitors new developments in the field of IT, CCTV, and security and advising the business about appropriate, cost effective business IT solutions which could enhance or replace existing systems to match with the new technology and market demand.
- Stimulates subordinates and contributing to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of technical systems and solution design systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement to ensure that match Organization requirements.
Client Management:
- Monitors and controls organization IT operations to ensure meet and exceed the service levels agreed upon with users and conforming to relevant technical and security standards while remaining within budgeted cost.
- Liaisons with different business units within the organization to understand technology requirements, identifying and delivering solutions to meet their needs.
- Performs other responsibilities and tasks as required or as directed by management from time to time to ensure all staff requirement are covered.
Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning:
- Ensures the security and integrity of the operations environment by defining Information Security policies for Organization, driving implementation through various security devices and monitoring compliance. Develops secure MIS operation.
- Plans for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in case of system failure, in consultation with Risk Management and ensure data recovery plans are reviewed periodically.
- Escalates to Shared Services Director any delays, issues, anomalies or security breaches to avoid any risk.
Vendor Management:
- Manages Organization relationships with key vendors for supply of hardware and software and ensuring timeliness and quality of the applications delivered.
- Participates in facilitating and securing agreements with vendors, by providing the best terms, conditions, and quality so that Organization gets best value for investment.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures:
- Recommends improvements to IT policies, procedures and processes and implementing approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure that all policies are updated.
- Monitors adherence to polices, systems, processes and procedures so that ensure work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Forecasts department budgets in conjunction with the organizational budget and secures subsequent approval, tracks expenses and ensures adherence.
- Finalizes the manning needs of the department and obtains requisite approvals.
- Manages the team under the Information Technology department by evaluating the performance of team members, provides feedback on an ongoing basis, identifies development needs and coaches them to ensure ongoing capability development.
- Identifies training needs and organizes trainings for the department on various aspects on which the role holder has responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of IT with 12 years of hands on experience
- Certificates in IT such as MCSE/ CCNA/ Microsoft
- SAP ERP system experience is a plus
- 12+years of experience.
- Strong English and Arabic language skills (written and spoken).
- Extensive hands-on experience in IT matters.
