Overview One of our clients is conducting a short-term research initiative focused on understanding how data systems are designed and managed within growing startups (approximately 20–150 employees). We are seeking individuals with firsthand experience building, overseeing, or scaling internal data and reporting systems in startup environments. This engagement involves documenting architectural decisions and reviewing how operational data supports business decision-making.
Project Scope Participants will contribute insights related to previously built or managed systems, including:Business intelligence layers (dashboards, metrics frameworks, funnels, cohort analyses) Operational reporting queries across functions such as Product, Operations, and Finance Data architecture flows from database schema to stakeholder reporting Decision-support systems used in scaling environments This is a retrospective documentation and advisory engagement. No confidential or proprietary information should be shared.
Ideal Background Founder, co-founder, or early operator at a startup (20–150 employees) Experience designing or managing internal analytics, reporting, or BI systems Familiarity with cross-functional data workflows and stakeholder reporting needs Ability to clearly explain architectural decisions and trade-offs Availability for a short-term, clearly scoped engagement Industry background is flexible; architectural complexity and practical experience are the primary considerations.
