<p>Section/Unit: Safeguarding<br>Grade Level: 12<br>No. of Post: 1<br>Duty Station: Port Sudan<br>Duration: 6 months renewable<br>Closing Date: 17 August 2026</p><h4>Background</h4><p>The Protection Assistant will conduct outreach, sensitization sessions and recreational events and provide individual protection assistance to person with specific needs .to all protection project activities in Red Sea state and will assist the protection Officer and protection specialist in smooth running of Safeguarding and Protection Sector activities.</p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p>A) </p><ul><li>Conduct outreach to identify People with disabilities and vulnerable at-risk, prioritizing the most vulnerable and difficult to identify; conduct sensitization and awareness-raising sessions on key protection issues based and Disability inclusion on identified needs for children and adults and people with disabilities.</li><li>Prepare and conduct project activities in coordination with protection officer</li><li>Identify and refer people with disabilities and vulnerable at risk to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral principles, collect information, update and maintain a service mapping and referral pathway at community level.</li><li>As case worker contribute to case management process by conduct case introduction, assessment, implementation of case plan and monitoring</li><li>Regularly record, track and follow-up on referrals.</li><li>Draft individual work plan and participate in regular supervision, information sharing and coordination meetings with the Protection Officer and Protection sector coordinator considering confidentiality and data protection policies.</li><li>Support the mainstreaming of protection, disability inclusion and GESI principles and WVI protection minimum standards.</li><li>Supervise CBCPNs through regular follow up meetings.</li><li>Support in identification and follow up of people with specific needs including people with disabilities</li><li>Participate in distribution of assistive devices, hygiene and dignity kits and start up capitals</li><li>Support in community sensitization and conducting public community events.</li><li>Perform any other duties requested by supervisor.</li><li>Carry out and monitor the implementation of all project activities</li><li>Conduct protection and GESI assessment as needed</li><li>Develop and submit timely project report</li><li>Identify gaps, priorities and opportunities on Protection, Gender and safeguarding</li><li>Provide technical support for partner team in the implementation of project activities</li><li>Carry out any task that aligned or additional duties as assigned by supervisors and managers.</li></ul><p><strong>B) </strong> </p><ul><li>Monitor protection situations, address, report and respond to protection issues. </li><li>Build capacity of communities on Protection, Safeguarding and GESI and promotion of Gender and safeguarding awareness in the area.</li></ul><p><strong>C)</strong></p><ul><li>Always represent WV in a professional manner</li><li>Engage with protection partners in the community level in all coordination efforts on protection in the project targeted areas.</li><li>Fully engagement with community leaders and other relevant actors at the state level.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>D) </strong> </p><ul><li>Enhance and maintain teamwork. -Closely coordinate with other WV</li><li>Sectors to ensure protection, safeguarding and GESI mainstreaming. - Carry out assessment on protection, Safeguarding and GESI.</li><li>More communities and staff relationships have improved.</li><li>Protection, Safeguarding and Gender fully integrated in all sectors.</li></ul><p> </p><p><br> </p><p> </p><h4>Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required</h4><p><strong>1.Required Professional Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>2 years of experience conducting outreach, information sessions and events; Supporting the HP manager in organizing and carrying out assessments and research on the impact of HP activities and identifying and reporting the constraints, difficulties or strength points of the HP strategy inside and outside the medical structures in order to reinforce the link between the communities and the project </li><li>Providing support in selecting and developing quality pedagogical communication strategies towards the community.
