Together with a Sudanese NGO, we provide physical and functional rehabilitation as well as mental health & psycho social support in health centers and communities. collaboration with the nutrition and medical teams.</li><li>Conduct developmental screening and assessment of referred children and identify children requiring stimulation therapy and/or further rehabilitation referral.</li><li>Develop and implement individualized stimulation therapy plans based on each child’s developmental needs, functional abilities, and nutritional recovery status.</li><li>Provide 5–7 individual stimulation therapy sessions of approximately 30–45 minutes per child, involving the child and caregiver together.</li><li>Use age-appropriate physical, sensory, cognitive, communication, and play-based activities to support children’s motor, sensory, cognitive, language, and emotional development.</li><li>Conduct developmental assessments during the initial and final sessions to monitor progress and document changes in the child’s developmental and functional status.</li><li>Demonstrate and coach caregivers on simple, culturally appropriate stimulation activities that can be safely continued at home using locally available materials and Toy Box resources.</li><li>Ensure that stimulation sessions are delivered in a safe, child-friendly, inclusive, and stimulating environment.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and day-to-day supervision to Physiotherapy Assistants involved in the delivery of stimulation therapy.</li><li>Mentor and coach Physiotherapy Assistants to ensure consistent application of stimulation therapy techniques, child-centred approaches, and appropriate caregiver engagement.</li><li>Establish and maintain appropriate referral pathways with PUI and other relevant nutrition and health actors for identification, referral, and follow-up of children requiring stimulation therapy or additional rehabilitation services.</li><li>Support training and orientation of medical staff, nurses, nutrition assistants, and other relevant frontline workers on the principles of stimulation therapy, identification of children requiring support, and referral criteria.</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, referrals, follow-up, and outcomes in accordance with HI procedures and project requirements.</li><li>Monitor the quality and continuity of stimulation therapy services and provide recommendations to improve service delivery.</li><li>Participate in of devices and specific items. </li></ul><h2>Responsibility 4: Provision of Stimulation Therapy Services</h2><p> </p><ul><li>Provide stimulation therapy sessions to children aged 6–59 months recovering from severe and moderate acute malnutrition under the technical supervision of the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Support the Physiotherapist in conducting developmental screening and functional assessment of children referred for stimulation therapy.</li><li>Implement individualized stimulation activities according to the therapy plan developed by the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Conduct structured 30–45 minute stimulation sessions using age-appropriate physical, sensory, cognitive, communication, and play-based activities.</li><li>Engage caregivers throughout the sessions and demonstrate simple stimulation activities that they can safely continue with their children at home.</li><li>Use locally adapted Toy Box materials and other appropriate rehabilitation and play materials to facilitate physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional stimulation.</li><li>Encourage positive interaction between children and caregivers and promote caregiver participation in all stimulation activities.</li><li>Observe children’s responses, progress, and any concerns during sessions and promptly report these to the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Support the Physiotherapist in conducting follow-up and final developmental assessments and documenting the child’s progress.</li><li>Maintain a safe, clean, child-friendly, and inclusive stimulation therapy environment and ensure appropriate use and care of rehabilitation materials and equipment.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of children receiving stimulation therapy, including attendance, sessions provided, caregiver participation, referrals, and follow-up.</li><li>Support identification of children who may require additional rehabilitation, health, protection, or other specialized services and communicate concerns to the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Participate in regular supervision, coaching, and technical capacity-building sessions provided by the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Work closely with nutrition assistants, nurses, medical staff, and other relevant team members to facilitate timely referral and continuity of care.</li><li>Contribute to community and caregiver awareness activities related to السودان (GoS)، وبخاصة مفوضية العون الإنساني (HAC). الدور مسؤول عن التواصل مع الحكومة، الوصول الإنساني، تنسيق الأمن والامتثال التنظيمي لدعم عمليات DCA في السودان. إضافة إلى ذلك، يوفر المنصب دعماً We work alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.</p><p>HI works in around sixty countries in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts. Mercy Corps’current areas of programming includefood security and livelihoods, WASH, health, nutrition, peace building and protection, resilience, and Market Systems Development.</p><p> </p><p>The EMPOWER programme is an European Commission-funded action implemented by Mercy Corps in consortium with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and local partners to support conflict- and displacement-affected young people aged 15–35 in nine target states (of which Mercy Corps will work in four (and potentially 5) states: South Darfur, Kassala, River Nile, and North and South Kordofan). The 42-month program started in January 2026, and will respond to Sudan’s protracted crisis by combining short-term income opportunities with pathways to longer-term economicrecovery, while strengthening protection and social cohesionfor youth, especially young women, internally displaced persons (IDPs),and youth with disabilities.</p><p> </p><p>Through an integrated approach, the EMPOWER programme will deliver labour-intensive, community-based public works and Cash for Work (CfW) activities that rehabilitate priority community assets and improve accessto services and markets, alongside market-relevant training, entrepreneurship support, and linkages to employment and financial services (including VSLAs).
