Crisis Analysis provides insights into the contextual backdrop to our programming as well as timely, dynamic and granular data and analysis. </p><p> </p><p>By considering the root causes and systemic drivers of fragility in a holistic manner, Crisis Analysis can support the crafting of truly transformative solutions that Mercy Corps’ foundational resilience approach calls for. The unit has carved out a niche among evidence and information providers in the humanitarian and development space, owing to the granularity, reactivity and holistic approach of our products, which focus on some of the most hard-to-reach, data-poor and complex contexts requiring assistance. </p><p>This is underpinned by our status as an operational INGO, which ensures that our analysis products are practicable and relevant for humanitarian and development actors.</p><p> </p><p><strong>The Position </strong></p><p>The Field Researcher conducts day-to-day situation monitoring in their assigned location, while also supporting verification and monitoring of partner project activities and triangulates and verifies the accuracy of incidents.</p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><h4><strong>Essential Responsibilities </strong></h4><p><strong>Objectives:</strong></p><p>Under supervision of the Team lead and the Field coordinator, the Field Researcher will be responsible for:</p><p>The day-to-day situation monitoring in their location and reporting on access, displacement, humanitarian needs, market prices, response efforts, relevant conflict incidents, infrastructure, historical economic drivers, social relationships, perceptions, informal dispute resolution mechanisms, local authorities, power dynamics, and laws/regulations.</p><p>Support the verification or monitoring (if possible) of partners’ projects activities at activities sites, including data collection, beneficiary verification, monitoring of delivery and distribution of commodities and submission of routine reports to the M&E focal point. </p><p>The Field Researcher will receive training on identifying relevant information, and collecting it in a responsible, accurate and sustainable manner. Relevant information would typically include: economic activity and prices of goods; the structure of local communities; relative happiness or otherwise of people within the community; people moving out of or into the local area; etc.</p><p>The Field Researcher will receive weekly updates on the priorities for information collection. Since its establishment, COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries. COOPI has started its operation in Sudan since 2004 supporting people in need living Sudan which are affected both by natural and human related disasters including drought and conflict. COOPI-Sudan focuses on two main programmatic pillars which are Emergency Response and Early Recovery programs.</p><p>The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all HR functions of the mission, ensuring compliance with national labour legislation, organizational policies, donor requirements, and humanitarian best practices. COOPI Sudan started its operation in 2004 and has been primarily implementing emergency, relief and early recovery programs in water hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihood, nutrition and protection sectors.</p><p> </p><p>COOPI is currently implementing several projects in North Darfur and Khartoum in the sectors of WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Climate Change adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Refugee Response.</p><p> </p><p>The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and oversight of the AICS funded Project (WASH). Remaining on duty until other watchman comes to do a handover, never leaving the post unattended.</li><li>Organizing traffic of vehicles within the premises and directs them in and out.</li><li>Checking that the doors and windows are locked and lights are off when people leave premises. Checking that security lights are working properly and informing line manager of any possible problems.</li><li>Keeping area within <strong>MSF</strong> premises clean and tidy (ex. empty dustbins, sweep paths, etc.) and performs general maintenance activities of the garden (ex. cut grass, maintain flower beds, prune trees if necessary, etc.).</li><li>Maintaining watchmen's torch and other lighting tools, returning used batteries and keeping the necessary supply of spare batteries. Maintaining communication equipment (radio) in working conditions and providing battery availability.</li><li>Supervising diesel/petrol tank levels and providing spare can(s) of fuel.
