The DCD PDQI leads technical aspects of the Country Office within the themes of Learn (education), Protect (child protection, child rights governance), Survive (child poverty, health, nutrition, WASH) and as such ensures that the Country Office develops and implements high quality programmes in the sectors through building high organisational technical competence and provision of quality technical assistance. DCD PDQI also oversees the COs engagement with Donors and Clusters including co-leadership of Clusters as relevant. </p><p> </p><p>In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will In Gedaref, activities have focused on refugee and host populations, with a recent transition from a hospital-based model (including Tenedba) towards more targeted support to high-burden facilities, particularly for neglected tropical diseases.</p><p>In Omdurman, the project has anchor projects in nutrition (an ITFC in Al Buluk hospital) and potentially an SRH activity in partnership with a local organisation.</p><p>Both projects remain agile and emergency response and preparedness is a main pillar in both projects. The project strengthens value addition and market linkages for smallholder farmers and MSMEs by supporting key activities: installation of solar-powered milling and drying equipment, capacity building for local technicians and entrepreneurs, business grants, and market access facilitation. By doing so, SEAL enhancesagricultural productivity, reduces post-harvest losses, creates income-generating opportunities, and promotes sustainable energy usage, ultimately contributing to inclusive economic growth and resilience in rural eastern Sudan.</p><h4>The Position</h4><p>The MEAL Assistantwill lead the day-to-day monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) functions of the SEAL project, ensuring that reliable evidence on project performance and results is generated, verified and used. He/she will operationalize the project MEL plan in line with the logframe and donor requirements; design and manage data collection tools and the project database; support the baseline and endline studies, the periodic market monitoring in Kassala and the market assessments and catalytic pilots in South and Central Darfur;
