Since its establishment, COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries. COOPI Sudan started its operation in 2004 and has been primarily implementing emergency, relief and early recovery programs in water hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihood, nutrition and protection sectors.</p><p> </p><p>COOPI is currently implementing several projects in North Darfur and Khartoum in the sectors of WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Climate Change adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Refugee Response.</p><p> </p><p>The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and oversight of the AICS funded Project (WASH). The employee carries out duties independently under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, Area Coordinator and Head of Mission, supervises and coaches project staff, maintains contacts with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures project as well as the respect of COOPI and donor procedures and requirements.<br><br> </p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p><strong>Project Strategic Management: </strong></p><ul><li>The Project Manager is responsible to ensure the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities; </li><li>Advise and make recommendations to the program manager and Head of Operations on how to best carry out activities, implement projects in respect of deadlines and expected results, and on how to improve the project management and results;</li><li>Proactively identify project needs, performance, gaps, risks and other issues and discuss them with the Project Manager on how to best handle them;</li><li>Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of project phases and activities;</li><li>Take into consideration and incorporate the of Program Manager’s guidance in all relevant aspects of the management of the project.</li><li>Liaise and ensure good coordination with the partner of the Consortium on the field with whom the project is implemented, ensuring that the local partner is implementing the activities following the workplan and the donor/COOPI requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Planning:</strong></p><ul><li>Plan activities and issue a weekly programmatic planning; </li><li>Design, plan, and organize field and assessment missions to reach project objectives; </li><li>Develop weekly activity plans for the staff and share them with COOPI Program Manager and Head of Operations;</li><li>Coordinate the movement of the staff in line with working plans, and ensure to liaise with PMU logistics and Head of Operations;</li><li>Support project staff and Community Volunteers in the planning and implementation project and sectoral related activities.</li><li>Develop Intermediate and Final report to be submitted to the Donor in coordination with Head of Mission and MEAL Coordinator</li></ul><p><strong>Implementation & Monitoring: </strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the implementation of activities, either remotely and by making regular field visits to project areas, and adjust the planning and activities whenever necessary to achieve set objectives and results;</li><li>Ensure regular contact with the project team to support them in the proper implementation and monitoring of activities;</li><li>Support the technical team by providing tools, format and guidance, specifically for WASH and Shelter activities;</li><li>Ensure that the project team meet standards and achieve set goals by adhering to the best implementation practices and/or guidelines;</li><li>Monitor progress of partner’s activities and promptly report on delays or diversion from what planned;</li><li>Follow up and ensure that all contractors are providing services and confirm expected deliverables;</li><li>Responsible to monitor activities, provide updated data on the project, and to ensure that proper tools are used;</li><li>Produce monitoring checklists;</li><li>Facilitate the collection of qualitative and quantitative data relevant to the project;</li><li>Collect relevant information from the field as part of needs assessment and perform the analysis of data collected; </li><li>Organize ad hoc field assessment and conduct field joint assessment on quarterly base, providing feedbacks and recommendations for timely improvement in collaboration with COOPI MEAL Team;</li><li>Update regularly the Project M&E Plan;</li><li>Contribute to ensure that project visibility and communication requirements are followed.</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting: </strong></p><ul><li>Ensure proper and accurate reporting on project activities, in line with donor and COOPI’s requirements; </li><li>Collect, consolidate, and review weekly activity reports from field staff and technical activity reports. Send them to the Program Manager;</li><li>Produce assessment, field visit reports, minutes of meetings whenever requested and needed; </li><li>Maintain the project documentation and reports in order and ensure proper filing;</li><li>Write narrative report on project activities and submit to Program Manager for approval;</li><li>Ensure that project activities will be carried out in the respect of donor’s and COOPI’s policies, requirements, and objectives. </li><li>Ensure the proper monthly financial forecast with the COOPI’s internal tools (“preppy”).</li><li>Ensure the proper monthly internal reporting with the COOPI’s internal tools (“meally” and other reporting tools).</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>External Coordination: </strong></p><ul><li>Schedule and attend meetings (internal, cluster, project stakeholders, donor, etc.); </li><li>Represent COOPI during meetings whenever required; </li><li>Communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals;</li><li>Prepare and ensure follow-up of Technical Agreements and MoUs with external parties; </li><li>Oversee the work of stakeholders, local organizations and partners involved in the implementation of the project and manage contractual terms and expected completion of project phases and results. Mercy Corps’ current areas of programming include food security and livelihoods, WASH, health,<br>nutrition, peace building and protection, resilience, and Market Systems Development.<br>The EU Youth programme is an European Commission-funded action implemented by Mercy Corps in<br>consortium with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and local partners to support conflict- and<br>displacement-affected young people aged 15–35 in nine target states (of which Mercy Corps will work in<br>four (and potentially 5) states: South Darfur, Kassala, River Nile, and North and South Kordofans). The 42-<br>month program started in January 2026, and will respond to Sudan’s protracted crisis by combining shortterm<br>income opportunities with pathways to longer-term economic recovery, while strengthening protection<br>and social cohesion for youth, especially young women, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and youth with<br>disabilities.<br>Through an integrated approach, the EU Youth programme will deliver labour-intensive, community-based<br>public works and Cash for Work (CFW) activities that rehabilitate priority community assets and improve<br>access to services and markets, alongside market-relevant training, entrepreneurship support, and<br>linkages to employment and financial services (including VSLAs). All activities are designed using conflictand<br>inclusive approaches and are informed by assessments, with protection mainstreaming and<br>community safety measures embedded where feasible to support safe participation and reduce<br>vulnerabilities.</p><p><br><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong><br>The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator will support the EU Youth programme (EMPOWER), leading the<br>day-to-day management of the programme’s partnerships with five local implementing partner NGOs<br>across the five target states. Job Summary: </strong></p><p>The <strong>Feedback and Accountability Mechanism Officer </strong>/Hotline Operator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of CARE’s toll-free and other feedback channels at the field office level. The post holder ensures communities, IDPs, and persons of concern have safe, confidential, and accessible means to provide feedback, ask questions, and raise complaints. The role functions in close collaboration with the Accountability Officer, MEAL team, and Program staff to uphold CARE’s Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) commitments.</p><p>Activities include receiving and registering all calls, ensuring ethical and professional caller engagement, maintaining the FAM database, referring cases for action, and contributing to reporting and learning on feedback trends. In Sudan, UNEP implements environmental governance, climate resilience, natural resource management and recovery programmes in partnership with national, state and local authorities, communities, civil society organizations and development partners.</p><p>Dinder National Park is one of Sudan’s most important protected areas and supports significant biodiversity, wildlife habitats, seasonal wetlands, forests, rangelands and water systems. The park is also closely connected to the livelihoods and resource-use practices of communities in the surrounding areas of Sennar, Gedaref and Blue Nile states.</p><p>Climate change, land degradation, agricultural expansion, population displacement, weak natural resource governance and increasing demand for land, water, forest products and grazing resources have placed considerable pressure on the park and its surrounding landscapes. These pressures have contributed to the degradation of wildlife habitats, blockage and sedimentation of mayas and seasonal water channels, loss of vegetation cover, soil erosion, expansion of cultivation into ecologically sensitive areas, unsustainable use of forest resources, human–wildlife interactions and conflicts among farmers, pastoralists, communities and park authorities.</p><p>The conflict that began in April 2023 has further affected livelihoods, public infrastructure, markets, institutional capacities and access to natural resources. Mercy Corps’current areas of programming includefood security and livelihoods, WASH, health, nutrition, peace building and protection, resilience, and Market Systems Development.</p><p> </p><p>The EMPOWER programme is an European Commission-funded action implemented by Mercy Corps in consortium with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and local partners to support conflict- and displacement-affected young people aged 15–35 in nine target states (of which Mercy Corps will work in four (and potentially 5) states: South Darfur, Kassala, River Nile, and North and South Kordofan). The 42-month program started in January 2026, and will respond to Sudan’s protracted crisis by combining short-term income opportunities with pathways to longer-term economicrecovery, while strengthening protection and social cohesionfor youth, especially young women, internally displaced persons (IDPs),and youth with disabilities.</p><p> </p><p>Through an integrated approach, the EMPOWER programme will deliver labour-intensive, community-based public works and Cash for Work (CfW) activities that rehabilitate priority community assets and improve accessto services and markets, alongside market-relevant training, entrepreneurship support, and linkages to employment and financial services (including VSLAs). All activities are designed using conflict-and gender-sensitive approaches and are informed by assessments, with protection mainstreaming and community safety measures embeddedwhere feasible to support safe participation and reduce vulnerabilities.</p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><h2>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES</h2><h3>Strategy and Vision</h3><ul><li>Translate the programmestrategy into state-level workplans that coherently integrate public works/CfW, youth skilling & life skills, entrepreneurship & MSME strengthening, financial inclusion, and protection & peacebuilding activities, ensuring alignment with consortium technical guidance and EU requirements.</li><li>Lead and/or supportstate-level inception-to-closeout sequencing, including TA processeswith SAHRO authorities and line ministries, assessments, implementation, and exit/handover.
