Since its establishment, COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries. COOPI Sudan started its operation in 2004 and has been primarily implementing emergency, relief and early recovery programs in water hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihood, nutrition and protection sectors.</p><p> </p><p>COOPI is currently implementing several projects in North Darfur and Khartoum in the sectors of WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Climate Change adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Refugee Response.</p><p> </p><p>The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and oversight of the AICS funded Project (WASH). The employee carries out duties independently under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, Area Coordinator and Head of Mission, supervises and coaches project staff, maintains contacts with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures project as well as the respect of COOPI and donor procedures and requirements.<br><br> </p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p><strong>Project Strategic Management: </strong></p><ul><li>The Project Manager is responsible to ensure the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities; </li><li>Advise and make recommendations to the program manager and Head of Operations on how to best carry out activities, implement projects in respect of deadlines and expected results, and on how to improve the project management and results;</li><li>Proactively identify project needs, performance, gaps, risks and other issues and discuss them with the Project Manager on how to best handle them;</li><li>Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of project phases and activities;</li><li>Take into consideration and incorporate the of Program Manager’s guidance in all relevant aspects of the management of the project.</li><li>Liaise and ensure good coordination with the partner of the Consortium on the field with whom the project is implemented, ensuring that the local partner is implementing the activities following the workplan and the donor/COOPI requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Planning:</strong></p><ul><li>Plan activities and issue a weekly programmatic planning; </li><li>Design, plan, and organize field and assessment missions to reach project objectives; </li><li>Develop weekly activity plans for the staff and share them with COOPI Program Manager and Head of Operations;</li><li>Coordinate the movement of the staff in line with working plans, and ensure to liaise with PMU logistics and Head of Operations;</li><li>Support project staff and Community Volunteers in the planning and implementation project and sectoral related activities.</li><li>Develop Intermediate and Final report to be submitted to the Donor in coordination with Head of Mission and MEAL Coordinator</li></ul><p><strong>Implementation & Monitoring: </strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the implementation of activities, either remotely and by making regular field visits to project areas, and adjust the planning and activities whenever necessary to achieve set objectives and results;</li><li>Ensure regular contact with the project team to support them in the proper implementation and monitoring of activities;</li><li>Support the technical team by providing tools, format and guidance, specifically for WASH and Shelter activities;</li><li>Ensure that the project team meet standards and achieve set goals by adhering to the best implementation practices and/or guidelines;</li><li>Monitor progress of partner’s activities and promptly report on delays or diversion from what planned;</li><li>Follow up and ensure that all contractors are providing services and confirm expected deliverables;</li><li>Responsible to monitor activities, provide updated data on the project, and to ensure that proper tools are used;</li><li>Produce monitoring checklists;</li><li>Facilitate the collection of qualitative and quantitative data relevant to the project;</li><li>Collect relevant information from the field as part of needs assessment and perform the analysis of data collected; </li><li>Organize ad hoc field assessment and conduct field joint assessment on quarterly base, providing feedbacks and recommendations for timely improvement in collaboration with COOPI MEAL Team;</li><li>Update regularly the Project M&E Plan;</li><li>Contribute to ensure that project visibility and communication requirements are followed.</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting: </strong></p><ul><li>Ensure proper and accurate reporting on project activities, in line with donor and COOPI’s requirements; </li><li>Collect, consolidate, and review weekly activity reports from field staff and technical activity reports. Send them to the Program Manager;</li><li>Produce assessment, field visit reports, minutes of meetings whenever requested and needed; </li><li>Maintain the project documentation and reports in order and ensure proper filing;</li><li>Write narrative report on project activities and submit to Program Manager for approval;</li><li>Ensure that project activities will be carried out in the respect of donor’s and COOPI’s policies, requirements, and objectives. </li><li>Ensure the proper monthly financial forecast with the COOPI’s internal tools (“preppy”).</li><li>Ensure the proper monthly internal reporting with the COOPI’s internal tools (“meally” and other reporting tools).</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>External Coordination: </strong></p><ul><li>Schedule and attend meetings (internal, cluster, project stakeholders, donor, etc.); </li><li>Represent COOPI during meetings whenever required; </li><li>Communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals;</li><li>Prepare and ensure follow-up of Technical Agreements and MoUs with external parties; </li><li>Oversee the work of stakeholders, local organizations and partners involved in the implementation of the project and manage contractual terms and expected completion of project phases and results. <p>Section/Unit: Programs Unit<br>Grade Level: 6<br>Supervisor: Central Sudan Area Manager<br>No. of Post: SOS01/08/26<br>Duty Station: Khartoum and White Nile states<br>Duration: 11 Months<br>Closing Date: 06 Sept 2026</p><h4>Background</h4><p>The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the SHF Project under the title of (Provide comprehensive Life-Saving WASH Intervention for 325,000 people affected by conflict and Cholera in Localities of Jabel Awlia-Khartoum state, Kosti, and Rabak-White Nile state) in Sudan through directly managing project officers. The position manages overall performance, process, and outcome of the project activities, ensuring high-quality implementation, and alignment with donor requirements and SOS Sahel’s internal policies.</p><p> </p><p> Under the direct supervision of the Central Sudan Area Manager, the PM will undertake the following tasks:</p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p><strong>Key areas of responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide day to day management and oversight across all programmatic and operation of the SHF project activities in Khartoum and White Nile states </li><li>Grant Management</li><li>Manage and support program and project officers to ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project</li><li>Ensure compliance with SHF regulations and SOS Sahel’s policies and procedures.</li><li>Oversee performance management, process optimization, and outcome tracking for all the project related activities in Khartoum and White The role supports preparation of designs, BoQs, specifications, tender documents, and site supervision to ensure quality delivery. The position also supports WASH behaviour change activities to improve sanitation and hygiene practices, prevent WASH-related disease outbreaks such as cholera, and strengthen community capacity for sustainable use and management of WASH facilities.</p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p><strong>1.Project planning and Implementation</strong> </p><p>• Support day-to-day implementation of WASH project activities in line with the approved work plan, DIP, budget, donor requirements, and World Vision standards.</p><p> • Prepare basic engineering designs and technical inputs for water supply and civil construction works, including drawings, BoQs, specifications, site measurements, and material estimates. <p>Section/Unit: Health<br>Grade Level: 13<br>Supervisor: Health and Nutrition Project Officer<br>No. of Post: 2<br>Duty Station: Khartoum<br>Duration: I year with possibility of extension<br>Closing Date: 27 August 2026</p><h4>Background</h4><ul><li>Oversees the community engagement activities done by the Primary health care and nutrition, CHWs, MCGs, ttC, iCCM. Offers support to all the 1 PHCs, and 1 Mobile team in Jebel Awliya locality Khartoum states. The support is directly offered to the Health and Nutrition staff seconded to MoH at targeted HFs at the locality level. Acceleration of all the activities in the models stated above. Oversee all capacity building initiatives for community groups and support the health and nutrition officers to align to the Sudan requirements for those small groups. Implementation of the models is done as World Vision Sudan recommends.</li></ul><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p><strong>1.Proposals, Planning & Strategy</strong></p><p> • Work with sector field-based staff to develop concept papers and prepare proposals (including logical frameworks, draft budgets, budget narratives, monitoring and evaluation plans) for major government, private and SUDO is currently operating through 12 well-established field offices. </p><h4>Duties and responsibilities</h4><p>Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Coordinator, the Senior MEAL officer will lead MEAL activities guided by SUDO MEAL manual and donor requirements. Specifically, she/he will:</p><ul><li>Support program teams on effective tracking of program performance, quality data collection and analysis to facilitate informed program and project design.</li><li>Participate in projects design and proposals development in the areas of theory of change, logframe design, MEAL plan and budget.</li><li>Ensure gender sensitive, inclusive and participatory processes throughout MEAL elements.</li><li>Lead in the planning of projects evaluations (including development of ToRs, participation in consultants’ selection, revision of evaluation reports…), as well as leading on research studies.</li><li>Ensure that analysis of evaluation findings and recommendations feedback into improved program quality, evidenced in subsequent program/project designs.</li><li>Work closely with the program team to set up accountability mechanisms for beneficiaries and stakeholders, revise the responses and follow up on actions, to improve the project performance.<strong> </strong></li><li>Document the lessons learned and provide recommendations for program development. </li><li>Suggest adaptation and modification of the MEAL manual, as necessary, in consultation with program team and management. </li><li>Contribute to the development of the organization's strategy based on the MEAL findings. </li><li>Build capacity of program team on MEAL. </li><li>Carry out field visits to project sites, share findings with project staff and ensure actions are taken for improvement.</li><li>Work with field offices to ensure data is collected from the field as per the monitoring plan and at agreed intervals.</li><li>Support digitization and organization of datasets in collaboration with field MEAL staff. </li><li>Document success stories and case studies. </li><li>Update indicator tracking tools and project MEAL databases regularly. </li><li>Contribute to proposals and new project budgets by ensuring sufficient MEAL costs are included.</li><li>In the absence of MEAL Coordinator lead the country level MEAL plans and reporting.</li></ul><h4>Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required</h4><ul><li>Master degree in social sciences, development Studies, or other relevant studies.</li><li>At least seven years of experience working in MEAL in humanitarian and development contexts with I/NGOs. </li><li>Commitment and ability to foster and support capacity building of own staff and of local initiatives. </li><li>Proven experience in coordination.</li><li>Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.</li><li>Fluent written and spoken English and the ability to write clear reports for a wide range of audiences.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of people and organisations with tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to cultural differences. </li><li>Ability to work to agreed deadlines.</li><li>Ability to think analytically and plan strategically.</li><li>Ability to live and work in often arduous conditions and undertake necessary travel in the country.</li><li>Empathy with SUDO's mission and values.</li></ul>
