Together with a Sudanese NGO, we provide physical and functional rehabilitation as well as mental health & psychosocial support in health centers and communities. HI is further leading disability inclusion mainstreaming at humanitarian coordination level.<br> </p><p>HI is scaling up its intervention in Sudan while expanding its programmatic and geographical scope, to respond to the catastrophic humanitarian crisis affecting Sudanese people.</p><ol><li><strong>Role</strong></li><li>The MEAL manager’s missions concern all aspects of Country programmes (and their affiliates) or “Stand alone” programmes. the technical supervision of the Technical Officer – Rehabilitation and the Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapy Assistant provides physical and provides inpatient, and outpatient physical and implementation</strong></p><h2>Responsibility 1: Provision of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation </h2><p> </p><ul><li>Provide rehabilitation care with the support of the Physiotherapist to the most critical and highpriority cases according to the guidelines of HI’s emergency rehabilitation interventions. </li><li>Under the supervision of the Physiotherapist pre-screening and prioritization for accurate assessment, planning, and provision of appropriate therapy to the beneficiaries including ongoing evaluation/re-assessment of the beneficiaries within the constraints of the project resources and using local resources at the fixed point, the beneficiaries’ home, and where relevant. </li><li>According to the outcomes of the assessment of the beneficiaries’ needs (taking into account her/his daily activities, the participation of her/his caregiver, etc.…), and consultation with the Rehab Officer develop an appropriate rehab intervention and treatment plan. </li><li>Ensure rehabilitation outcomes to a person should focus on achieving and maintaining “OPTIMAL FUNCTIONING” in interaction with their environment, personal, and outcome factors. </li><li>Familiarize yourself with the global physical and functional rehabilitation approaches of the Handicap International Federation (Humanity & Inclusion). </li><li>Inform the beneficiary and the caregiver about the importance of rehabilitation services to improve the physical situation and daily function. </li><li>Offer rehabilitation services based on the defined objectives between the beneficiary and the caregiver. </li><li>Review the most recent information on the beneficiary’s evolution before starting a treatment session and adapt your treatment or seek technical advice from your Rehabilitation exercises, modification of tasks, and home activities that the beneficiary can do on his/her own or with/without support from caregivers on the way to prevent complications or disabling situations. </li></ul><p> </p><h2>Responsibility 2: Provision of Assistive Devices and Rehabilitation Equipment Management </h2><p> </p><p>Identify the beneficiary’s needs (for critical and high-priority cases) in terms of assistive devices and mobility aids by seeking support from the Physiotherapist to ensure as per HI guidelines. </p><ul><li>Ensure that the device is adapted to user needs and provide clear explanations to guarantee its safe and proper use and maintenance. </li><li>Ensure a proper follow-up on the use and wean off the assistive device </li><li>Ensure the provision of assistive recovering from severe and moderate acute malnutrition under the technical supervision of the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Support the Physiotherapist in conducting developmental screening and functional assessment of children referred for stimulation therapy.</li><li>Implement individualized stimulation activities according to the therapy plan developed by the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Conduct structured 30–45 minute stimulation sessions using age-appropriate physical, sensory, cognitive, communication, and play-based activities.</li><li>Engage caregivers throughout the sessions and demonstrate simple stimulation activities that they can safely continue with their children at home.</li><li>Use locally adapted Toy Box materials and other appropriate rehabilitation and play materials to facilitate physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional stimulation.</li><li>Encourage positive interaction between children and caregivers and promote caregiver participation in all stimulation activities.</li><li>Observe children’s responses, progress, and any concerns during sessions and promptly report these to the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Support the Physiotherapist in conducting follow-up and final developmental assessments and documenting the child’s progress.</li><li>Maintain a safe, clean, child-friendly, and inclusive stimulation therapy environment and ensure appropriate use and care of rehabilitation materials and equipment.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of children receiving stimulation therapy, including attendance, sessions provided, caregiver participation, referrals, and follow-up.</li><li>Support identification of children who may require additional rehabilitation, health, protection, or other specialized services and communicate concerns to the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Participate in regular supervision, coaching, and technical capacity-building sessions provided by the Physiotherapist.</li><li>Work closely with nutrition assistants, nurses, medical staff, and other relevant team members to facilitate timely referral and continuity of care.</li><li>Contribute to community and caregiver awareness activities related to
